Driving license validity extension: Authorities extends validity of driving licence, automobile paperwork until June | India Enterprise Information

NEW DELHI: The federal government on Friday prolonged the validity of motorcar paperwork like driving licence (DL), registration certificates (RC) and permits until June 30, 2021, in view of the continuing Covid-19 pandemic.
In an advisory to states, the Ministry of Street Transport and Highways (MoRTH) mentioned it’s extending the validity of health, allow, driving licence, registration and different paperwork whose extension of validity couldn’t be granted because of lockdown and which had expired since February 1, 2020, or would expire by March 31, 2021.
It had earlier issued advisories dated March 30, 2020, June 9, 2020, August 24, 2020, and December 27, 2020, in reference to extension of validity of paperwork associated to the Motor Autos Act, 1988, and Central Motor Automobile Guidelines, 1989.
It’s suggested that the validity of the paperwork which have expired since February 1,, the identical could also be handled to be legitimate until June 30, 2021, the ministry mentioned in an advisory to states.
Enforcement authorities are suggested to deal with such paperwork legitimate until June 30, 2021, the MoRTH mentioned including that “this may assist out residents in availing transport-related companies”.
Stating that this can be final advisory on this regard, the ministry has requested the states to implement this advisory in letter and spirit, in order that residents aren’t harassed or face difficulties.
Earlier by varied notifications, it was suggested that the validity of health, allow (every type), licence, registration or every other involved paperwork could also be handled to be legitimate until March 31, 2021.
